TO: PARMLY BILLINGS LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES FROM: BILL COCHRAN, DIRECTOR RE: REPORT MEETING DATE: SEPTEMBER 10, 2009 ACTIVITIES REPORT • I participated in the 8-13 meeting of the Mayor’s Committee on Homelessness. • I joined Systems Administrator Dee Ann Redman at the 8-17 meeting of The Big Read Planning Committee. • I attended the 8-17 City Council Work Session and participated in the discussion of the possible sale of Park IV and its relationship to the potential move of the Library to the Gainan’s building. • I joined Trustee Lloyd Mickelson, Children’s Librarian and many other community members at the 8-19 organizational meeting of the Library’s Strategic Planning Committee and participated in the 9-2 meeting, as well. • I joined Redman and others at the 8-26 meeting of the High Plains Book Awards Committee. • I attended the 8-20 Chamber of Commerce Mayoral Candidate Forum at MSU-Billings Downtown. • I toured the Weyburn SK Public Library 8-29 and the Regina SK Public Library 8-30. • I participated in the 9-2 Billings Cultural Partners meeting. • Redman and nine other staff members participated in online training on Patron Assistance for downloadable audiobooks on 9-3. • I guided a tour and gave a presentation to guests of the Parmly Billings Library Foundation at a 9-3 Lunch @ the Library. • Assistant Director Jim Peters and Redman will attend the Friends of the Library meeting on 9- 9.
