RESOLUTION NO. 02-17861 A RESOLUTIUON OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AUTHORIZING A CHANGE IN THE ANNUAL SALARY OF THE POSITION OF CITY JUDGE. WHEREAS, City Judge Mary Jane Knisely has been duly elected by the citizens of the City of Billings as the City Judge in 1997; and WHEREAS, City Judge Mary Jane Knisely has performed commendably for the City of Billings; and WHEREAS, the position of City Judge is crucial to the success of City law enforcement efforts; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the Citizens of Billings that the position of City Judge continue to attract quality candidates willing to serve in this fundamental position: and WHEREAS, the City Council has the authority pursuant to MCA Section 3-6- 203(2001) and Billings Montana City Code Section 10-205 to establish the salary of the City Judge. NOW, THEREFORE, WE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BILLINGS, MONTANA, do hereby resolve as follows: 1. That the base salary for City Judge, Mary Jane Knisely, shall be adjusted effective July 1, 2002 by the same 3.25% COLA authorized by the City Council for non-union management employees of the City in the FY 03 budget. 2. That hereafter the base salary for the City Judge shall be adjusted annually by the same COLA authorized by the City Council for non-union management employees of the City through the budget adoption process.
