FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT: Rhonda Johnson, Public Information Officer, Big Horn County (406) 679-0572 Big Horn County Reports 19 Additional Newly-confirmed Cases of COVID-19 35 total cases added on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 HARDIN, MONTANA (July 29, 2020) – Big Horn County added 19 additional cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday for a total of 35 cases on the day. Of the newly-confirmed cases, 18 patients were tested as a result of contact with previously-confirmed positive patients and were when tested. One patient presented with and likely contracted the virus through community spread, as there are no known contacts with previous cases at this time. Five persons are deceased. Of the 141 active cases, 133 patients are quarantining and recovering at home, and eight patients are hospitalized. Masks are required when engaged in indoor activities, such as shopping. Masks are not necessary in the event that residents are outdoors and unlikely to come within six feet of other people, such as while taking advantage of our beautiful county, to work, recreate, or exercise. Tracking down contacts to a positive case (contact tracing) is one of the best tools public health can use to slow the spread of the virus.
