FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT: Rhonda Johnson, Public Information Officer, Big Horn County (406) 679-0572 Big Horn County Announces Eighth Death from COVID-19 Decedent was woman in her 70’s HARDIN, MONTANA (July 30, 2020) – Big Horn County today confirmed an eighth death due to 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) of an individual residing in the County. The decedent was a woman in her 70’s and was previously-confirmed positive. This is the third death in the last 24 hours in the County. The Big Horn County COVID-19 Response Unified Coalition offers our sincere condolences to her family and friends. Big Horn County wants to remind everyone that with the rise in confirmed positive cases and the recent deaths, it is ever more important that everyone take necessary precautions to stay safe and healthy. All residents of the County must wear a mask and social distance when outside of their homes and in public. Masks are required when engaged in indoor activities, such as shopping. Masks are not necessary in the event that residents are outdoors and unlikely to come within six feet of other people, such as while recreating or exercising alone. Before going to your healthcare provider or emergency room, if you are experiencing any of COVID-19, please call ahead so that they can prepare for your arrival. If you are experiencing emergency warning signs, please call 9-1-1 and inform the dispatcher so that EMS/Ambulance can be prepared.
