FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT: Rhonda Johnson, Public Information Officer, Big Horn County (406) 679-0572 Big Horn County Reports Nine Cases of COVID-19 Three patients hospitalized HARDIN, MONTANA (July 1, 2020) – Big Horn County added nine confirmed positive cases of COVID- 19 between Tuesday night and Wednesday. Three of the patients were included in the State of Montana’s COVID-19 numbers posted Wednesday morning on the COVID-19 map at Of the nine patients, seven were found through contact tracing and two were not part of any current cluster in the County. Five of the nine presented with and four were when tested. Three persons are deceased. Of the 31 active cases, 28 patients are quarantining and recovering at home, and three are currently hospitalized. The Big Horn County Public Health Board met today and wants to remind all residents of Big Horn County to wear a mask and social distance when outside of their homes and in public. Masks are required when engaged in indoor activities, such as shopping. Masks are not necessary in the event that residents are unlikely to come within six feet of other people while taking advantage of the outdoors in our beautiful county, to work, recreate, or exercise. ---PAGE BREAK--- Page 2 of 2 Tracking down contacts to a positive case (contact tracing) is one of the best tools public health can use to slow the spread of the virus.
