FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT: Rhonda Johnson, Public Information Officer, Big Horn County (406) 679-0572 Big Horn County Reports 12 Newly-confirmed Cases of COVID-19 81 new cases in first 20 days of July HARDIN, MONTANA (July 20, 2020) – Big Horn County added 12 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 on Monday, all 12 of whom are One patient likely contracted the virus through community spread and 11 were contacts of previously-confirmed cases. Five persons are deceased. Of the 84 active cases, 79 patients are quarantining and recovering at home, and five patients are hospitalized. Big Horn County had 74 total positive cases from the months of April, May, and June 2020. The County has now had 81 new cases in the first 20 days of July. Masks are required when engaged in indoor activities, such as shopping. Masks are not necessary in the event that residents are outdoors and unlikely to come within six feet of other people, such as while taking advantage of our beautiful county, to work, recreate, or exercise. Tracking down contacts to a positive case (contact tracing) is one of the best tools public health can use to slow the spread of the virus.
