FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT: Rhonda Johnson, Public Information Officer, Big Horn County (406) 679-0572 Big Horn County Reports Fourth Death from COVID-19 and Four New Confirmed Cases Decedent was a woman in her 60’s HARDIN, MONTANA (July 2, 2020) – Big Horn County today confirmed a fourth death due to 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) of an individual residing in the County. The decedent was a woman in her 60’s. She was previously diagnosed with COVID-19 and was hospitalized prior to her death. The Big Horn County COVID-19 Response Unified Coalition offers their deepest condolences for her family and friends in their loss. Big Horn County added four confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. Three were contacts of previously confirmed cases and one is not part of any current cluster in the County. Four persons are deceased. Of the 34 active cases, 32 patients are quarantining and recovering at home, and two are currently hospitalized. The Big Horn County Public Health Board met today and wants to remind all residents of Big Horn County to wear a mask and social distance when outside of their homes and in public. Masks are ---PAGE BREAK--- Page 2 of 2 required when engaged in indoor activities, such as shopping. Masks are not necessary in the event that residents are unlikely to come within six feet of other people while taking advantage of the outdoors in our beautiful county, to work, recreate, or exercise. Tracking down contacts to a positive case (contact tracing) is one of the best tools public health can use to slow the spread of the virus.
