Fall Festival September 28, 2024 The Center will be hosting our Annual Pancake Breakfast 7:00-9:00 am We need a rock star, lightening speed pancake flipper—this job isn’t for the faint of heart or the “yeah, I like to make pancakes for my family of 4 on the weekends.” There will be a huge amount of people who need to be fed FAST! Do you work well under this type of pressure and can be on your feet for sev- eral hours without a break? If you fit all the above, stop by and chat with us! We will also need volunteers to host in the dining room, servers in the kitchen and set up, tear down crews. Stop by the Center to sign up! We need YOU! We have always had a parade float and I am sure we would all like to keep this tradition alive! We need a team to put our float together! If you are inter- ested in taking lead on this project, come visit with me! We need float riders too! Dress up in Green, Black and White, and celebrate our hometown Panthers! There will be music to dance to, candy to pass out and lots of fun to be had! So practice your best parade wave and jump on! There are so many ways to be involved in the Fall Festival! Stop by and sign up to be part of this annual Belgrade celebration! ---PAGE BREAK--- September Birthdays Angela Reuben 9/1 Debbie Schultz 9/1 Suzy Larson 9/1 Les Inafuku 9/2 Steve Allen 9/3 Deena Westfall 9/4 Larry Zeutschel 9/5 Carl Koeber 9/5 Kathy Bleile 9/5 Arthur Phipps 9/7 Connie Wicks 9/7 Dennis Biggs 9/8 Elaine Clark 9/8 Sam Lane 9/9 ReNae Grantier 9/19 MaryEllen Litle 9/20 Mona Paulas 9/21 Nelfy Wagner 9/23 Vicki Johnson 9/25 Denise Sanborn 9/26 Anna Craver 9/27 Rita Johnston 9/27 David Knapp 9/27 Shirley 9/27 Carol Koepcke 9/28 Joann Wattiers 9/29 Debi Kemp 9/30 Delores Young 9/30 Linda Morgan 9/9 Bev Frizzel 9/11 Angelina Parsons 9/12 Marie Murphy 9/12 Armina Joos 9/13 Lorraine Brown 9/13 Barbara Parsons 9/14 Susan Westphal 9/16 Godfrey Saunders 9/16 Judy Hiatt 9/16 Mardie Louis 9/16 Sue Miller 9/18 Karen Lampe 9/19 Deana Marks 9/19 Gallatin Health Department & Bozeman Health Classes September 19, 2024 @ 1:00 Think First for Falls This interactive presentation will discuss fall prevention topics like home safety, safety in the community, talking with your physician, nutrition, and the signifi- cance of exercise, vision and medications. They are both in their early 80’s, very active in their community and church, still working in their beautiful yard and doing a great job enjoying this season of their lives. Speaking of their yard— it is a glorious tangle of orga- nized chaos! Flower beds of varying sizes and gardens spots in no particular order. Little surprises growing here and there making it a perfect place to sit and watch or think or dream! It is wonderful! What makes it extra special is that every flower bed has been bestowed a special assign- ment. Each grandchild and great grandchild has been given their own little spot. Statues and fountains signify significant milestones or character traits or special occasions, all speaking to the heritage my folks have established. A monument of another kind also graces my parents’ yard. Over 65 years ago, my mom started several little oak trees in a flowerpot from acorns she gathered from my great aunt’s yard in Missoula. I was four years old when my folks purchased a home in Corvallis for $5,500.00 and when we moved there from Missoula, my mom brought her oak tree in a flowerpot, planted it in her front yard and waited years for it to produce acorns. (Rabbit trail: I think acorns embody enchantment! These little objects are marvelous in their shape and construction, and I never cease to stop and admire when I happen to see one laying on the ground!) That oak tree has been around for a long time and will be around long after all the grandchildren and great grandchil- dren. This oak tree has also established a legacy. My mom gave one of her first little starts to my great grandma to plant in her yard in Florence and although my grandparents passed away many years ago, that oak tree still stands straight and tall like a yard guardian. An of my mom’s tree stands in my daughter’s yard here in Bel- grade and my grandson and his new bride also hope to plant their own oak tree start from my mom’s tree. I heard someone say once that we know how many seeds are in an apple, but we have no idea how many apples are in a seed. I think this concept is appro- priate to ponder when it comes to this big old tree that graces my parents’ yard!
