There was so much going on that the entire month feels like a blur—but it must have been wonderful, because I’m left with a great sense of satisfaction, which means it truly was great! From concerts to cookie decorating, wreath making, and festive feasting, I don’t think we could have shoehorned in one more activity. But alas, the stark reality of the long winter months is upon us. Winter can feel dreary and endless, and spring may seem like a distant dream—but remember, we are here. You don’t have to go it alone! We may not be as busy as last month, but you can always find a friendly face and a warm cup of coffee here. A Fun & Friendly Guide to Reverse Mortgages January 16, 2026 - Following Lunch Join us for an informative and lighthearted presentation with Sandi Mi- lohov, a seasoned Senior Loan Officer who brings clarity, confidence—and maybe even a few chuckles—to the often-confusing world of reverse mortgages. So, what is a reverse mortgage? It’s a financial tool designed for homeowners 62 and bet- ter that allows you to tap into your home’s equity without selling your home or moving out. Your home can help support retirement income, cover medical expenses, or even fund those travel dreams you’ve been putting off. Why Seniors Consider Reverse Mortgages: •Stay in your home—no downsizing or relocating •No mortgage payments •Extra cash flow for everyday expenses or special plans •Flexible payout options: lump sum, payments, or a line of credit •Federally insured for added peace of mind Meet Sandi Milohov Sandi isn’t just an expert—she’s a neighbor! Based right here in Belgrade, she’s passionate about helping seniors make informed, confident financial decisions. During her presenta- tion, she’ll walk through both the pros and cons of reverse mortgages, explain how they work in plain language, and help you decide if it’s something worth considering for your own situation. Whether you’re curious, cautious, or completely new to the idea, this is a great opportunity to learn in a relaxed, welcoming setting. There may even be some surprises in store! A Visit with Russ Nelson January 21, 2026 following lunch We’re pleased to welcome retired Belgrade Mayor Russ Nelson for a special visit and conversation. Russ served our community for an incredible 22 years as mayor, and he’ll be sharing stories, in- sights, and reflections from his time leading Belgrade through years of growth and change. Join us for an engaging look back at local history, memorable moments, and what it was really like to serve our town for more than two decades. This is sure to be interesting and enjoyable! ---PAGE BREAK--- Activity Highlight: Beginner Ballet Thursdays at 1:00 Why Ballet Is Great for Seniors Ballet isn’t just tutus and toe shoes—it’s actually a fun, gentle way to stay moving as we get older. Ballet helps improve balance, flexibility, and pos- ture, which can make everyday activities easier and help reduce the risk of falls. The movements are low-impact and easy on the joints, while still helping build strength and coordination. It’s also great for the brain. Remembering steps, moving to music, and try- ing something new can boost mood, focus, and confidence. Plus, ballet classes are social and uplifting—lots of smiles, laughter, and encourage- ment. Whether you’ve danced before or are just curious, ballet is a graceful (and enjoyable!) way to keep both body and mind feeling good. Our Ballet Class, facilitated by Jeff & Lynn West, is structured to adjust to all levels of physical fitness. Stan Bolin Shares His Cochlear Implant Experience January 23, 2026 following lunch Stan Bolin will be joining us to share his personal experience with a cochlear implant and how it has impacted his life. A cochlear implant is a medical device for people with severe hearing loss who don’t benefit from hearing aids. Instead of amplifying sound, it sends sound signals directly to the au- ditory nerve, helping the brain interpret sound more clearly. Stan will talk about why he chose a cochlear implant, what the process was like, and how it has improved his ability to hear and connect with others. This will be an informative and firsthand look at a technology that has made a meaningful difference in his daily life. Drew McDowell caught a nasty bug the last time he planned to join us, so we’re excited to welcome him back on January 9, 2026, around 12:30. We guarantee you’ll enjoy his easygoing style and his love for the music we all know and remember! ---PAGE BREAK--- ---PAGE BREAK--- Closed January 19, 2026 For Martin Luther King Day Did you know you can recycle your used glasses, cell phones and hearing aids at the Belgrade Senior Center?
