By mapping the shoreline, RMA can identify eroded areas that need restoration and vegetated areas that may need protection. ---PAGE BREAK--- Programs: Baywatch Turtlewatch Seagrass/Scallop/Shoreline Restoration Early shoreline restoration work (RMA and BEST) ---PAGE BREAK--- Programs: Baywatch Turtlewatch Seagrass/Scallop/Shoreline Restoration Long term benefits • A healthy fisheries requires a healthy bay. • Vegetated shorelines not only increase fishery habitat but they also remove the pollutants in stormwater runoff. This improves the water quality in the bay. • Could cleaner waters bring back our scallops?
