AUGUSTA HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS REQUIRED INFORMATION The following information must be available for distribution to the Historic Preservation Commission members no later than ten days before the meeting at which a Certificate of Appropriateness is to be considered. 1. REHABILITATION RENOVATION: Work write-up or other written description of the rehabilitation / renovation activities. Work write-up should clearly indicate how all major exterior features (e.g. roof, walls, porch, windows, doors, foundation) will be affected, and describe the design and materials for the new facility. Photographs of all sides of the structure affected by the rehabilitation / renovation. Plans, including elevation drawings if substantial alterations are proposed. Plans may be sketched or drawn to scale at the discretion of staff. 2. DEMOLITION Complete form entitled "Demolition Support Information". 3. RELOCATION: Photograph of existing structure on existing site. Photograph of proposed site and map of location Reasons for request to move structure. 4. NEW CONSTRUCTION: Elevation drawings, showing all sides and dimension. Elevation shall be drawn to scale unless this is waived by the staff. Photographs of proposed site and adjoining properties. Site plan showing building footprint and location of off-street parking. Include number of spaces, surface material, screening and all other information required under Parking Areas. Floor plan showing setbacks and other exterior features such as steps, door swings, windows and texture samples. Material list including door and window styles, colors (optional) and texture samples ---PAGE BREAK--- 5. ACCESSORY USES: Parking Areas: Site plan (may be a sketch if approved by staff) showing layout, number of spaces, dimensions and location of screening. Indicate height, design and materials of walls and fences; indicate type of vegetation. Include material samples if applicable. Description of surface materials. Fences and Walls: Site plan (may be a sketch if approved by staff) showing location of fence / wall. Sketch or photograph showing design of fence/wall, material and height. Photograph of area to be fenced/walled and adjacent structures. Description of fence/wall materials. Walks, Satellite Dishes and Other Landscape Features: Site plan (may be a sketch if approved by staff) showing location and layout. Photograph of area affected. Description of materials and design. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Location / address of work to be done. Proposed starting date of work.
