Winter Clothing Drive - Urgent Need The Municipal Court is coordinating a winter clothing drive for defendants experiencing homelessness in the Municipal Court One Small Step docket. The need is great. Even the smallest contribution makes a significant impact on those we serve at Arvada Municipal Court. Your Challenge This is an internal only donation drive. Imagine the impact if EVERY City of Arvada employee donated just ONE item! Email your news to ---PAGE BREAK--- Infrastructure W 72nd Avenue progress and closure Last week, 72nd Avenue was able to open up to four lanes throughout the project corridor. This week there is a full road closure on 72nd from Simms Street to Swadley Court. The closure is expected to last about one week (beginning Monday, Feb. This work will tie in the west end of the project with the existing W 72nd Avenue. Visit the project page or view the detour map (PDF) for more info. February 3 Snow Storm by the Numbers Thank you to the many team members who helped to plow our roads, parks/trails, parking lots and sidewalks during this most recent snow storm. Over the weekend, the teams spent well over 300 combined staffing hours plowing nearly 4,000 miles of roadway and using over 300 tons of salt. Thank you for helping to keep our community safe during the storm. Community and Economic Development Residence Inn by Marriott Officially Open! The new Residence Inn by Marriott located in New Town at 7360 W. 56th Ave. is officially open! Members of the City of Arvada team, including Mayor Lauren Simpson, members of the City Council, and City Manager Lorie Gillis, attended the formal ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the official opening of the new hotel on the afternoon of Monday, Feb. 5.
