Despite the rain, the community found ways to unite, and the Arvada PD took the chance to engage more one-on-one. Commander Ron Avila drove his favorite patrol unit, a vintage 1974 Volkswagen Beetle, and many of our newer officers spent time with groups from AVi at Olde Town to Westwoods. The Board of Directors has approved the purchase of a new building that will accommodate the much needed expansion of the communications center. In the next 18 months or so, the center will move to a new location west of their current building. Look for additional information and updates as this project gets underway. Jeffcom has also hired a consultant to do an overall evaluation of their operations. Included in that evaluation is a tech assessment to review service levels and procedures.
