Dry Utility Field Reference Sheet Specifications ● 18” minimum vertical separation from all City of Arvada (COA) infrastructure. ● 24” minimum horizontal separation from all COA ber; 10’ from all other infrastructure. ● All bore paths fi must be pre-marked for locating purposes. ● Municipal Inspector needs to be notified 24 hours prior to utility crossings; 48 hours prior to critical crossings. ● All crossings of COA infrastructure will require a standby by Municipal Inspector or COA representative. ● With the approval of the Municipal Inspector, a 5’ field variance can be allowed. A disapproval from the inspector or a larger variance than 5’ will require an RFI. ● Restoration must be completed within seven days of completed work unless otherwise instructed by Municipal Inspector or COA representative. ● All work trucks must have a company logo. ● A minimum of 5’ clearance of fire hydrant, water meters, etc...is mandatory. ● All bore paths must be painted in white paint to show bore paths. ● All approved plans must be on site at all times. ● All potholes must be initialed by the contractor. ● All inspections must be scheduled online by 6am on the desired day of inspection. ● Any COA infrastructure paralleling a bore path must be potholed every 25’. COA Field Staff All field communication should go through the Municipal Inspector. Permitting All permitting questions should be routed through the permit desk. Contact the Municipal Inspector immediately. ---PAGE BREAK--- Damage Prevention All utilities must be located and potholed prior to any directional boring. If it is found that a utility is crossed without supervision, a stop work notice may be issued. If assistance is needed for an unfound utility, contact the Municipal inspector. Stop work notice A stop work notice can be issued at any time throughout the job if the contractor does not follow COA requirements.
