Rules/Regulations Pertaining to Watercrafts and Activities Allowed on the Arvada Reservoir The Arvada Reservoir serves as an important water source for the City of Arvada, supplying the City with 25% of its drinking water. For this reason, sports such as windsurfing, swimming, water skiing, tubing and scuba diving, which require body contact or activities which may result in body contact with the water, are not allowed. Because of the relatively small size of the reservoir and for water quality reasons, gas powered boats (see Propulsion Systems) are also prohibited. However, electric trolling motors are permitted. Watercrafts/activities prohibited include but not limited to: Activities ● Windsurfing ● Paddle Boarding ● Swimming ● Wading ● Water Skiing ● Tubing or any floatation device ● Scuba Diving Propulsion System ● Any gas, propane, or other fuel powered motor (electric trolling motors only) ● Please note that all prohibited motors must be completely removed from a boat even if the fuel system is disconnected, drained or fuel source is removed. Watercrafts ● Any watercrafts which by its design (by the manufacturer or owner) that allows water to enter through the bottom of the watercraft pontoon boats). ● Belly boats Additional Important Information Due to the unlimited number of possible watercrafts sold or built every year, the Arvada-Blunn Reservoir reserves the right to reject any watercraft, propulsion system or activity that does not comply with what we deem allowable. It is also the personal responsibility every watercraft owner to keep their watercraft clean, drained and dried upon entering and exiting the Arvada Reservoir Property. No live bait is allowed in or out of the Arvada-Blunn Reservoir. Statewide Bag and Possession Limits Are Strictly Enforced by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Go to: cpw.state.co.us/fishing/brochure to download the 2020 Colorado Fishing Brochure. A state certified Arvada Reservoir Ranger must perform an ANS Watercraft Inspection and the watercraft must pass inspection BEFORE a watercraft is allowed on the Arvada Reservoir.
