WEEKLY BRIEFS City of Arvada internal news March 20, 2023 Check out the City’s 2023 Pavement Management Program Spring is upon us and so is paving season! The Pavement Management team is hard at work coordinating with contractors on concrete, curb ramp and road paving work throughout the city. The city evaluates city-owned roads every three years and prioritizes different types of pavement treatment to extend the life of our roads. Visit the Pavement Management Program webpage to see all areas of the city that are anticipated to have work completed this year. Lake Arbor restoration spotlight on 9News A big thank you to Sam Rogers, Drainage and Floodplain Engineer in the Public Works department, for his ongoing dedication to sharing updates with the public about the work taking place at Lake Arbor. On Friday, Sam was interviewed on site by 9News about the project. He was a great representative, providing visibility for the project and the improvements it will bring for the community. Infrastructure 81st & Kipling Sewer Line Construction If you drive along Kipling Street you may have noticed work beginning at 81st Drive and Kipling. In this first part of the project, there will be single lane closures at Kipling Street until approximately 4/14. Two-way traffic will be maintained. Please remember to use caution through this and all work zones around town. This project will replace a major sewer line along 81st Drive beginning at Kipling Street and moving west through Lakecrest Park later this year. Vibrant Community & Neighborhoods Work System West Woods Hiring Event March 31 and April 1 The West Woods Golf Club and Restaurant is hosting a hiring event on Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 6655 Quaker St. In-person interviews are guaranteed! You can apply now online or at the event. West Woods is looking to hire cooks, dishwashers, bartenders, servers, cart attendants and more. The City’s Parks team will also be at the event on Friday, March 31. The Parks team is in need of seasonal maintenance workers. Fill out our survey and let the project team know what you think of the draft design concepts! The effort to create an Olde Town Arvada Strategic Reinvestment Plan is in its final phase, and the City team wants to hear from everyone in the community who spends time in Olde Town, including internal City team members. Take our Speak Up Arvada survey to provide feedback on the draft design concepts for the future of the Olde Town. The survey closes on April 5.
