Policy Anaheim Police Department 200 Policy Manual Organizational Structure and Responsibility - 16 Adoption Date: 2014/09/19 © 1995-2014 Lexipol, LLC Organizational Structure and Responsibility 200.1 PURPOSE AND SCOPE The organizational structure of this department is designed to create an efficient means to accomplish our mission and goals and to provide for the best possible service to the public. 200.2 DIVISIONS The Chief of Police is responsible for administering and managing the Anaheim Police Department. There are six divisions in the Police Department, each operating under the direction of a Police Captain or Police Commander. The Deputy Chief oversees these Divisions which are organized as follows: • Special Operations Division • Operations Division • Operations Support Division • Investigations Division • Support Services Division • Administration Division 200.2.1 SPECIAL OPERATIONS DIVISION The Special Operations Division is commanded by a Captain whose primary responsibility is to provide general management direction and control for that Division. The Special Operations Division consists of the Vice, Narcotics and Criminal Intelligence Bureau; Air Support; and Special Events, Resort Policing and Traffic Bureau. 200.2.2 OPERATIONS DIVISION The Operations Division is commanded by a Captain whose primary responsibility is to provide general management direction and control for that Division. The Operations Division consists of the Patrol Bureau, Primary Response Officers, and Field Training Officer Program. 200.2.3 OPERATIONS SUPPORT DIVISION The Operations Support Division is commanded by a Captain whose primary responsibility is to provide general management direction and control for that Division. The Operations Support Division consists of the District Bureaus, Detention Bureau, and Personnel and Training Bureau. 200.2.4 INVESTIGATIONS DIVISION The Investigations Division is commanded by a Captain whose primary responsibility is to provide general management direction and control for that Division. The Support Services Division consists of the Information Technology Bureau, Communications, Bureau, and Records Bureau. 200.2.6 ADMINISTRATION DIVISION The Administration Division is commanded by a Captain whose primary responsibility is to provide general management direction and control for that Division. The Adminstration Division consists of the Internal Affairs Detail, Budget and Finance Bureau, Professional Standards Bureau composed of the Major Incident Response Team (MIRT) Detail, Public Safety Board, Civil Liabilities Detail, and the Anaheim Police Association (APA) President.
