Policy 104 Anaheim Police Department Policy Manual Oath of Office 104.1 PURPOSE AND SCOPE Officers of this agency are sworn to enforce the law and uphold the federal and state constitutions and the municipal laws of the City of Anaheim. 104.1.1 OATH OF OFFICE Upon employment, all sworn employees shall be required to affirm the oath of office expressing commitment and intent to respect constitutional rights in discharging the duties of a law enforcement officer (Cal. Const. Art. 20, § 3 and Government Code § 3102). The oath shall be as follows: I, [employee name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of California against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of California; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties upon which I am about to enter.
