The Anaheim Veterans Working Group explores additional opportunities to provide assistance and well-deserved recognition to Anaheim veterans and active military personnel. The Group consists of veterans, active community members and veteran-based organizations including The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Attachment(s) 14. Item(s) Description Description D. Burial Flag Flying Protocol Burial Flags are flown at the Veterans Memorial located at 241 S. Anaheim Blvd. A burial flag shall be flown for a period of two weeks at which time the flag will be retired by the American Legion with dignity and respect. Once the burial flag is lowered, a flag will be raised and flown in honor of all veterans. The applicant will be notified of the time and date when a volunteer honor guard will raise and lower the flag for retirement. Upon request the flag is returned to the applicant, if you would like the flag retired, the flag will be retired accordingly and not returned to the family. 15.
