OUTDOOR LET’S DO OUR PART CALIFORNIA IS IN A DROUGHT, but it is important to know that Anaheim currently has adequate water supplies. However, we all need to do our part to conserve this precious resource for the future. We encourage all customers to reduce their water use wherever possible to ensure the long term sustainability of Anaheim’s water. Below are some simple ways to save: Refrain from hosing or washing sidewalks, walkways, driveways, parking areas or other paved surfaces, except where necessary to protect public health and safety repair any leaks in your sprinkler system Avoid landscape watering between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. INDOOR Turn off the water while you brush your teeth Only run your dishwasher or washing machine when it is full Regularly check plumbing for leaks ANAHEIM PUBLIC UTILITIES ---PAGE BREAK--- HOME UTILITY CHECK-UP We review your home water use and fixtures, and recommend water saving improvements. We also provide free showerheads, kitchen and bathroom aerators, and toilet flappers. TOILETS Replace older toilets with high-efficiency models that use 1.28 gallons of water, or less, per flush. Rebate: $100/toilet. CLOTHES WASHERS Save water, money, and energy when you install a high-efficiency clothes washer with a water factor of 4.0 or less. Rebate: $85/washer. TURF REMOVAL We will pay you to remove live turf grass and replace it with California Friendly landscaping or artificial turf to help reduce your outdoor water use. Rebate: $3/square foot of turf removed. WEATHER-BASED IRRIGATION CONTROLLERS Schedule your irrigation system according to weather conditions and landscape types; yielding water savings in the thousands of gallons per year! Rebate: $80/controller (less than 1 acre); $25/station (greater or equal to 1 acre). ROTATING NOZZLES Switch to more precise efficient sprinklers to help reduce landscape runoff and water waste. Rebate: $4/nozzle (minimum quantity is 15). SOIL MOISTURE SENSOR SYSTEMS Your soil is often wetter than you think! Test the soil’s moisture with these devices before you water. Rebate: $80/controller (less than 1 acre) or $25/station (greater or equal to 1 acre). RAIN BARRELS Capture rainfall and reuse it to water your plants.
