How to use Enki Follow the link on the Alpine County Library website for Enki ebooks On the right hand side of the screen it will ask you to log in by entering your Library card number which will start with 20251 and your pin number. If you do not know your library card number or your pin number you can call the Library at (530) 694-2120 and we will give that information to you over the phone. After logging in you can search through the titles to find a book that you want to read. If the title is currently checked out you may place a hold on the book so that once it is checked back in the title will automatically appear on your account. If a book is available it will give you an option to “Checkout”. Once you select on check out, in most cases you will be given the choice to “Read Online”, “Download”, and “Return Now”. The “Read Online” option allows you to start reading right away but you must be connected to the internet in order to read it. The “Download” option will allow you to download the book to your device so that you can read it without an internet connection. In order to download the title to your device you must have Adobe Digital Editions installed. On the "Checkout” page, at the bottom, there will also be an option to “Get Adobe Digital Editions” If you do not already have this software, this link will allow you to install the necessary software to allow you to download the book. Enki supported e-readers include SimplyE, Bluefire, and Adobe Digital Editions. Enki Titles cannot be read on Kindle e-readers. In order to get a Kindle compatible title, use our Overdrive ebooks.
