MARKLEEVILLE DESIGN REVIEW HISTORIC COMMITTEE COUNTY OF ALPINE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA Administration Building, Board Chambers 99 Water Street, Markleeville, CA 96120 AGENDA Wednesday, March 29, 2017 5:30 P.M. A regular meeting of the Markleeville Design Review Historic Committee will be held on Tuesday, August 23 at 6:00 p.m. in the Alpine County Administration Building, Board Chambers, 99 Water Street, Markleeville, California. The public is encouraged to attend committee meetings. Public comment periods: Matters under the jurisdiction of the Committee, and not on the posted agenda, may be addressed by the general public at the beginning of the regular agenda under Oral Communication – General Public Comment. However, California law prohibits the Committee from taking action on any matter which is not on the posted agenda unless it is determined to be an emergency by the Committee. Olson Single Family Dwelling - Discussion and possible determination of consistency with County Code 18.56 for a proposed new 1,000 sq ft single family dwelling. The property is located at 8 Cole Court on an approximately .3 acre lot. The project is a single story residence with a front porch. Case # 2017- 02 Applicant: Cristina Olson. APN: 002-280-005. Location: 8 Cole Ct., Markleeville, CA. Zoning: Residential Neighborhood – Design Historic (RN-DH). Request: Building Permit- New single family dwelling. ---PAGE BREAK--- 5.2. Alps Haus\ Post Office building remodel - Discussion and possible determination of consistency with County Code 18.56 for a proposed remodel of an existing stairway and a new door for a commercial building located at 14841 State Route 89. The project is a demolition and reconstruction of a basement stairway and new door installation. Case # 2017-03 Applicant: Karrie Baker. APN: 002-280-005. Location: 14881 State Route 89., Markleeville, CA. Zoning: Commercial – Design Historic (RN-DH). CALL TO ORDER Chair Tom Sweeney called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. with Members Richard Harvey, and John Cressaty present. A quorum was established. 2. ORAL COMMUNICATION – GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT 3. MINUTES 3.1. Request approval of regular meeting minutes of February 19, 2014 and March 26, 2015. MOTION: Harvey / SECOND: Cressaty to approve the regular meeting minutes of February 19 and March 26 as presented. AYES: Sweeney, Cressaty, Harvey MOTION CARRIED 4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS None 5. NEW BUSINESS 5.1. Alpine County Interoperable Communications Tower - Discussion and possible determination of consistency with County Code 18.56 for a proposed 60 foot monopole communication tower. The tower is to be located 20 feet northeast of the existing Government Center building and will be surrounded by security fencing for a 14 foot by 14 foot area around the base. The project includes antennae attached to the tower and associated electrical equipment. Applicant: Alpine County. APN: 002-280-005. Location: 99 Water St., Markleeville, CA. Zoning: Institutional – Design Historic (I-DH). Request: Building Permit- New communication tower construction. Brian Peters introduced the project and described the features of the tower. The County is requesting a paint color recommendation from the Committee. MOTION: Harvey / SECOND: Cressaty to determine consistency of the tower and to recommend that tower color shall be dark brown to black, security fencing shall be dark brown to black, the regular meeting minutes of February 19 and March 26 as presented. AYES: Sweeney, Cressaty, Harvey MOTION CARRIED Motion Richard Harvey To recommend to Alpine County that tower shall be dark brown to black, matching dark brown or black security fencing. To forward comments recommending powder coating the tower and painting the antennaes if possible. John Cressaty 6. OTHER BUSINESS 7.
