Members of the committee: CAO/Director of Finance, Assistant CAO to Budget and Finance, Donald M. Jardine (District 1 Supervisor), Mary Rawson (District 5 Supervisor) AGENDA 1. Call to order regular meeting: 2:00 p.m. 2. Oral Communication: General Public Comment This portion of the meeting is an opportunity for members of the public to address the Alpine County Audit and Finance Committee. No action can be taken on items not appearing on the agenda. 3. Old Business: a. Approval of October 29, 2015, meeting minutes. b. Information and discussion concerning CalPERs recent investment policy change to gradually reduce its discount rate from 7.5 percent to 6.5 percent and its impact on general fund pension contribution amounts. c. Information and discussion concerning General Fund variance analysis of expenditure accounts to understand why there is a gap between budget and actual results. 4. New Business: a. Information and discussion from Brian Peters, Community Development Director, concerning fiscal health of Alpine County’s Road fund. b. Review and discuss mid-year budget process, instructions and timing. c. Review and discuss process and calendar for adoption of preliminary and/or final budget for fiscal year 2016-2017 d.
