LOCATION: Hot Springs Road from Laramie Street to the roadway’s end at Grover Hot Springs State Park, west of Markleeville CA 7. DESCRIPTION: The Alpine County Community Development Department (County) is proposing reconstruction of Hot Springs Road from Laramie Street to the roadway’s end at Grover Hot Springs State Park to improve pavement conditions, construct paved shoulders and bike lanes, and increase safety for drivers and bicyclists. PROPOSED ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: An initial study in accordance with Section 21080(c) of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) has been completed. The Alpine County Community Development Department has proposed a determination that this project will not have a significant effect on the environment, and has issued a draft Mitigated Negative Declaration. This Initial Study and draft Mitigated Negative Declaration has also been submitted to the California State Clearing House for review as required by CEQA. DECISION ON THE MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION: The Alpine County Board of Supervisors will make the final decision on the proposed mitigation negative declaration. This decision is scheduled for the Board of Supervisors regular meeting on Tuesday January 2, 2019 at 9:00 a.m., Board of Supervisors Chambers, Alpine County Administration Building, 99 Water Street, Markleeville, CA. PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: Written comments to be included in the materials submitted to the Board of Supervisors for the January 2, 2019 meeting must be submitted to the Alpine County Community Development Department no later than 5 pm on Thursday December 20, 2018.
