Assembly Bill 849 (2019), also known as The Fair and Inclusive Redistricting for Municipalities and Political Subdivisions (FAIR MAPS) Act, requires cities and counties to engage communities in the redistricting process by holding public hearings and/or workshops and doing public outreach. The Alpine County Board of Supervisors adopted the final supervisorial map at a Special Meeting on December 14, 2021. This map, also known as Option 4 Google Maps - Option 4. The California Citizens Redistricting Commission (CRC) also was tasked with drawing Congressional, Legislative and Board of Equalization districts for the state of California pursuant to California Constitution Article XXI, Section 2. The CRC certified and submitted the final maps to the Secretary of State on December 27, 2021. The Secretary of State in turn submitted the new maps to the counties on December 28, 2021. The Alpine County Registrar of Voters has been diligently working on updating the county voter registration system prior to the beginning of the election process on January 4, 2021. New voter registration notification cards were mailed on December 30, 2021 to the voters with new district information.
