PROJECT TITLE: 2018 Alpine County Active Transportation Plan 6. LOCATION: Throughout Alpine County 7. DESCRIPTION: The Alpine County Active Transportation Plan (ATP) provides policy, objectives and recommendations that encourage people to walk and bike as alternatives to driving motor vehicles. The ATP identifies existing facilities and future improvements with safety design features. The ATP extends recommendations from the Alpine County 2010 Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan, the 2016 Alpine County Regional Transportation Plan, Alpine County General Plan and State Bicycle-Pedestrian Plan; and provides the foundation for grant funding objectives and opportunities. PROPOSED ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: An initial study in accordance with Section 21080(c) of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) has been completed. The Alpine County Community Development Department has proposed a determination that this project will not have a significant effect on the environment, and has issued a draft Negative Declaration. This Initial Study and draft Negative Declaration has also been submitted to the California State Clearing House for review as required by CEQA. DECISION ON THE MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION: The Alpine County Board of Supervisors will make the final decision on the proposed negative declaration. This decision is scheduled for the Board of Supervisors regular meeting on March 20, 2018, 9:00 a.m., Board of Supervisors Chambers, Alpine County Administration Building, 99 Water Street, Markleeville, CA. WHERE TO OBTAIN OR REVIEW DOCUMENTS: The Initial Study and proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration may have been posted on line at http://www.alpinecountyca.gov/index.aspx?NID=407. The documents are also available for review at the Alpine County Community Development Department office at the address listed above. PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: Written comments to be included in the Board of Supervisors materials for the March 20, 2018 meeting must be submitted to the Alpine County Community Development Department no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday March 14, 2018.
