See: About COVID-19 restrictions - Coronavirus COVID-19 Response (ca.gov). We appreciate that most individuals and businesses are being very cooperative in complying with these requirements during these very difficult times in this holiday season. - Although the chart above does not show any cases in Bear Valley or Kirkwood, we now have evidence of cases among workers in both communities, so COVID is present throughout Alpine County. - Whether or not you agree with this order is not my most important concern. Our ticket to a healthy community and restoration of our economy centers around: o Wearing a face covering, social distancing, frequent handwashing, and minimizing gatherings o Frequent testing – our positivity rate is down from 5.8% on November 30th. The key is lots of testing – available in Bear Valley, Kirkwood, and Woodfords. o Answer the call! If you receive a call from our staff, please respond as we try to help you, your family, and our community to minimize the spread of infections. o Getting vaccinated! Our first shipment is due to arrive next week. The initial supply will be given to health care workers and first responders, followed by those with underlying medical conditions and the elderly. School staff will follow. Stay tuned for details later this week! Public Health Brief Richard O.
