How to use Enki Follow the link on the Alpine County Library website to Enki eBooks LOGIN On the right-hand side of the screen, log-in by entering your Library card number (which starts with 20251…) and your pin number (try “1234” which is the default pin If you do not know your library card or pin number you can call the Library at (530) 694-2120 and we will give you the numbers over the phone. SEARCH After logging in, search through the titles to find a book you want to read. If the book is currently checked out, you may place a hold. That way the title will automatically appear on your account once it is checked back in. CHECKOUT If a book is available you will see an option to “Checkout”. Once you choose check out, in most cases you will be given the choice to “Read Online”, “Download”, and “Return Now”. The “Read Online” option allows you to start reading right away but you must be connected to the internet in order to read it. DOWNLOAD The “Download” option will allow you to download the book to your device so that you can read it without an internet connection. In order to download the title to your device you must have Adobe Digital Editions installed. This software allows you to read ePub books—which are [color] books in a PDF format . (Links to this software are also on the Library webpage) SUPPORTED READERS Enki supported e-readers include SimplyE, Bluefire, and Adobe Digital Editions. Enki Titles cannot be read on Kindle e-readers. In order to get a Kindle compatible title, use our Overdrive ebooks.
