Last Updated: 1/27/2017 Job Training Opportunities As counties, cities and towns across California take advantage of energy efficiency resources and adhere to new environmental regulations, new jobs and opportunities are cropping up left and right. Take a look at these sites dedicated to creating jobs, training new workers and giving seasoned professionals the updated information they need. Title 24 Training Energy Code Ace provides free training on Title 24 (2013 and 2016 versions). Title 24 Building Energy Efficiency Standards, or Part 6 of the California Building Standards, are designed to ensure new and existing buildings achieve energy efficiency and preserve outdoor and indoor environmental quality. Local city and county enforcement agencies have the authority to verify compliance with applicable building codes, including energy efficiency. GRID Alternatives GRID Alternatives provides a “classroom in the field” for job trainees, giving students hands-on experience in the rapidly growing field of solar installation. The expanding solar industry is one of the few bright spots in an otherwise slow labor market. They have several programs and initiatives to provide training and connect employers to job seekers. Everblue Green Jobs Training Everblue provides intense green jobs training for building and construction professionals who are looking to learn more about sustainability, green building, and energy efficiency. Their exam prep courses prepare candidates for a certification exam such as LEED, BPI, RESNET, NATE, or NABCEP. PG&E Solar Education and Workshops Learn everything from selecting the renewable energy system to power your business to the benefits of running a green business.
