Providing Merit System Services Alpine County Health and Human Services Social Worker IV – Adult Services Alpine County Health and Human Services is seeking enthusiastic applicants to fill its Social Worker IV positions. Under general direction, the Social Worker IV A/B performs casework of an advanced nature dealing with complex individual and family problems; undertakes intensive treatment plans and counseling requiring professional knowledge and training; performs other related work as assigned. This position is in Adult Services for the Adult Protective Services and In Home Supportive Services programs. Additionally, the position provides back up to the Child Protective Services program including the 24-hour hot line. This full-time position will be located in Markleeville and Woodfords, California. The Social Worker IV position provides ongoing opportunities for career advancement, training and daily satisfaction. By collaborating with other branches under the Social Services umbrella and community partnerships, caseworkers help strengthen families and improve the wellbeing of residents. The Health and Human Services Department currently has a team of approximately 15 dedicated members serving Alpine County residents. Final Application Date: Open Until Filled MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Pattern1: A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university; OR Pattern 2: A Master’s degree from an accredited two year counseling program*; *Qualifying counseling degrees from a two year counseling program includes: Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Addiction Counseling, Gerontology, Counseling ---PAGE BREAK--- Providing Merit System Services OR Pattern 3: One year of full-time experience performing advanced journey (equivalent to a MSS SW III) level social work case management as a Social Worker in a public or private agency and Master’s degree in social or behavioral science, anthropology, sociology and counseling education. NOTE: Applicants who anticipate completing the requirements for a qualifying Master's Degree within six months of the final filing date may apply. While the above requirements outline the minimum qualifications, applicants may be further evaluated for qualifications beyond those listed. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION • A valid driver’s license may be required at the time of appointment and employees may also be required to drive their own car, provide proof of car insurance, and a DMV clearance. It is south of Lake Tahoe and north of Yosemite. It borders the State of Nevada to the east; neighboring California counties are El Dorado, Calaveras, Amador, Tuolumne, and Mono.
