See: http://alpinecountyca.gov/516/COVID-19 for daily updates. We are under the state’s Regional Stay-at-Home Order. The next evaluation of our status will occur on January 1st. See: About COVID-19 restrictions - Coronavirus COVID-19 Response (ca.gov) The good news – we have the lowest test positivity rate of the 58 counties in California, and the highest test rate. We need to continue this trend if we hope to move to a tier with less restrictions once we are released from the Stay-at-Home Order. Therefore, Testing reminder: Tuesday December 22, 11 AM – 3 PM, Fire Station 91 in Woodfords Wednesday December 23, 11 AM – 3 PM, Powerhouse, up the hill from Red Cliffs parking COVID-19 vaccine: - We expect our first shipment to arrive this week. Available doses will be provided to health care workers, including first responders who answer medical 911 calls in the days to come. - The Washoe Tribal Health Center has received a supply of vaccine. If you live in the Hung-A-Lel-Ti community, please call them to inquire about receiving a vaccination. - You have heard about new mutations. We believe that they may increase the ability to spread infection, but not increase the ability to cause death. We also do not believe these changes will affect the effectiveness of the vaccine.
