Alpine County Health Department, 75-B Diamond Valley Rd., Markleeville, CA 96120 Alpine County Board of Supervisors, Phone: (530) 694-2281 District 1: January Riddle, District 2: Ron Hames, District 3: Irvin Jim, District 4: Terry Woodrow, District 5: David Griffith Tuesday April 13, 2021 COVID-19 Testing Update Alpine County Health Department has purchased a number of COVID testing kits (Let’s Get Checked) that are available for use by individuals in the home or by employers and staff at workplaces. They are the gold standard PCR tests and are meant to be used for anyone with or without of COVID for diagnosis or screening. All costs are already paid for by the county. The tests will pick up any variants that may be present, which is critical since there can be some breakthrough infections even in folks who are completely vaccinated. The process which is clearly outlined in the kits: - Call UPS to arrange pick-up or drop off at a UPS store or facility. - Then perform your own nasal swab, and package according to the instructions. We are making these kits available in several ways: - If you as an individual want to get tested periodically, say once a week, call us at 530-694- 2146, Option 4, and Hillary will arrange for you to come to the HHS building in Woodfords to pick up. - We will come around to employers and offer kits to be distributed to employees for testing. So that UPS is not overwhelmed, the best thing to do would be for employers to have groups of employees tested at the same time, so that a single UPS pick-up can be arranged, preferably on a Monday or Tuesday. Employers can call the Warm Line and request tests also. Please contact me (Dr. Johnson) via the Warm Line at [PHONE REDACTED] with any questions. Public Health Brief Richard O.
