NOTICE OF ELECTION and Notice of Filing Period for SCHOOL DISTRICT GOVERNING BOARD MEMBER CONSOLIDATED GENERAL ELECTION November 3, 2020 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 a consolidated general election will be held in the County of Alpine, California, at which the following offices are to be filled: ALPINE COUNTY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT GOVERNING BOARD BOARD OF TRUSTEES / BOARD OF EDUCATION Trustee Area A: Two Governing Board Members The terms of office for members of the governing board elected shall begin at noon on the first Monday after the first day in January following the general election and shall end at noon on the first Monday after the first day in January four years thereafter. FOUR-YEAR TERMS: JANUARY 4, 2021 TO JANUARY 6, 2025 Declarations of Candidacy for eligible candidates desiring to file for the elective office of Governing Board Member, Trustee Area A, Alpine County Unified School District, may be obtained and filed with the Office of the Alpine County Clerk between July 13, 2020 and August 7, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. Contact the Clerk’s Office for information regarding video conferencing for Declarations of Candidacy. Signed Declarations of Candidacy must be received by August 7, 2020. A candidate must be a registered voter and reside within Trustee Area A or Trustee Area B. In the event that there are insufficient or no nominees with respect to the above offices, appointment to such office will be made in accordance with Education Code sections 5326, 5328 and 5328.5.
