February 2, 2018 Please submit in NCALLIES before the deadline date and time Local public agencies, 501(c)(3) non-profit corporations and local housing authorities are invited to submit applications to provide services addressing the above elements. Please read and follow all instructions at the following link: New Applicants are required to attend an Information Meeting on 1/17/2018, at 10:00 am. Meeting Location: County Administration Building, 621 Liledoun Road, Taylorsville, Downstairs Meeting Room. Private non-profits are also required to submit No Over Due Tax forms, Conflict of Interest Statements, and proof of 501(c)(3) status. School Domain: Youth involved with the Alexander County juvenile justice system have increased risk of school behavior issues reflected in short and long term suspensions. Applicants are being sought that are able to address items below: 1. Program services compatible with research that are shown to be effective with juvenile offenders. 2. Program services are outcome-based. 3. The program has an evaluation component. 4. Program services detect gang participation and divert individuals from gang participation. JCPC Chairperson or Designee Telephone Alexander County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council $112,275 30% January 2, 2018 Individual Domain: Juveniles involved in the Alexander County juvenile justice system have a higher rate from state average of juveniles that need further mental health assessment or treatment. Proposed program services should target the following risk factors for delinquency or repeat delinquency: *Substance Abuse/Use *School Problems *Assaultive Behaviors *Parent/Guardian/Custodian Supervision Skills *Pro-social peer rejection and youth association with others who are involved in delinquent/criminal activity Programs should address the following concerns as reported in the Needs Assessments for adjudicated youth: The Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) has studied the risk factors and needs of Juvenile Court involved youth in this county and hereby publishes this Request for Proposals. The JCPC anticipates funds from the NC Dept. of Public Safety in the amount stated above to fund the program types specified below. Such programs will serve delinquent and at-risk youth for the state fiscal year 2018- 2019 beginning on, or after, July 1, 2018. The use of these funds in this county requires a local match in the amount specified above. The JCPC will consider proposals for the following needed programs: Substance Abuse Assessments Substance Abuse Treatment Sex Offender Evaluations/Treatment Individual/Group/Family Counseling Home Base Family Counseling Temporary Shelter Care Mediation/Conflict Resolution Restitution/Community Service Parent/Family Skill Building Interpersonal Skill Building Vocational Development Mentoring Family Domain: Parental support and/or parental enhancement skills needed for juvenile court referred youth. Access services that provide best practices and have the ability to engage families in the community. Peer Domain: Alexander County youth involved with juvenile justice system associate with others who have been involved in delinquent/criminal activity.
