Alexander County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council $140,199 30% January 2, 2024 Experiential Skill Building Life Skills Parent/Family Skill Building Interpersonal Skill Building Vocational Development Mentoring Individual Domain: The Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) has studied the risk factors and needs of Juvenile Court-involved youth in this county and hereby publishes this Request for Proposals. The JCPC anticipates funds from the NC Dept. of Public Safety in the amount stated above to fund the program types specified below. Such programs will serve delinquent and at-risk youth for the state fiscal year 2024-2025 beginning on, or after, July 1, 2024. The use of these funds in this county requires a local match in the amount specified above. The JCPC will consider proposals for the following needed programs: Clinical Assessment Evaluations Substance Use Assessment Substance Use Treatment Problem Sexual Behavior Assessment & Treatment Home Base Family Counseling Individual/Group/Family Counseling Mediation/Conflict Resolution Restitution/Community Service Teen Court Family Domain: Parental support and/or parental enhancement skills are needed for court-referred youth. Access to services that provide best practices and have the ability to engage families are needed. Peer Domain: Alexander County youth involved with juvenile justice system are more likely to associate with others involved in delinquent activities and gang involvement. Substance use and mental health are critical issues in providing assistance to youth and families involved in the juvenile justice system. Programs receiving JCPC funds shall provide appropriate access to these services. Proposed program services should target the following risk factors for delinquency or repeat delinquency: *Juveniles who associate with other negative/delinquent/gang-involved peers *Parenting skills/family criminal history *Mental health (substance use and victimization) *School behavior problems/absences Programs should address the following concerns as reported in the Youth Assessment Screening Instrument for adjudicated youth:
