RFP 2019-43 ADDENDUM #1 January 8, 2020 The following information is provided as a result of question(s) posed by vendor(s): QUESTION – We are requesting exact pricing information for the towing proposal as follows: $25.00 payment to Albany police $100.00 payment from customer for towing $50.00 per day storage This would leave $75.00 going to the tow companies per tow. Is that correct? ANSWER - Pursuant to Albany City Code § 353-63, “the maximum charge for the towing of any vehicle not in excess of 10,000 pounds, which has not been authorized by the owner or operator, shall be $100. An additional flat fee of $25 for the dollying of a vehicle may be imposed. An additional charge of $55 per hour for winching may be imposed. The maximum charge for the storage of towed motor vehicles shall be $35 per day, or each part thereof, to commence after the vehicle has been on the premises for 24 hours.” The selected proposer may submit a response to the RFP with its proposed pricing scheme and its proposed payment to the City of Albany. The submission will be deemed “responsive” as long as the proposed prices do not exceed the maximum charges set forth in the City Code. The payment per tow remitted to the City of Albany will be dictated by an agreement reached by the City and the selected proposer(s). Each proposal must indicate the proposed amount of the payment to the City per tow. For example, the selected proposer may submit a pricing scheme as follows for the towing of a vehicle which required dollying and storage for twenty-five (25) hours: $100.00 for the towing of the vehicle; $25.00 for the dollying of the vehicle; and $35.00 for one day of storage, for a total amount of $160.00 charged to the customer. The proposer may also elect to submit a payment-per-tow amount of $25.00. The selected proposer collects $135.00 (=$160.00 - 25.00) under that pricing and payment-per-tow scheme.
