The plan includes engineering improvements to improve pedestrian safety and minimize crash potenƟal by implemenƟng countermeasures at the crossings on local urban roads and streets. 32 sites have been idenƟfied in the City of Albany to be evaluated as part of this project (provided on the map below). The purpose of this Public InformaƟon Flyer is to inform the public of this pedestrian safety project and opportunity to comment. This is not a highway rehabilitaƟon project. Work includes pedestrian signals, signs, and crosswalk upgrades. CONSTRUCTION/WORK ZONE TRAFFIC CONTROL (WZTC) ConstrucƟon is anƟcipated to last approximately 6 months with traffic being maintained by flaggers when necessary. Pedestrian and bicycle access, and business access will be maintained at all Ɵmes during construcƟon at all project sites. RIGHT OF WAY (ROW) All work will occur within the exisƟng public right-of-way. PROJECT COST & FUNDING The available total construcƟon funding for this project including the design, construcƟon and inspecƟon is $1,487,685.00.
