The Albany Fire Department wants you to have a safe & fun summer. While enjoying your out- door activities this summer please remember: Section 197-5 of the City Code: Forbids making or keeping fires in any yard or building unless the fire is in a wire, steel, concrete, brick or other fireproof en- closure or receptacle; Requires that any fire kindled or built outside of any building shall be at least twenty-five (25) feet from any wood structure, and in no event shall such fire be built within ten (10) feet of any type of structure; Fire must continuously be under the care of a competent adult from the time it is kindled until it is extinguished; and It is at the discretion of the Fire Department personnel having been authorized by the Chief of the Department to prohibit or caused to be extinguished any fire deemed hazardous.
