What to do before a fire:  Know & practice your emergen- cy plan  Know where the stairs & areas of refuge are located What to do if a fire occurs:  Call 911 do not assume that someone else has already called the fire depart- ment  Do not attempt to fight the fire yourself  If your apartment is on fire LEAVE & close door behind you.
