Dr. Dorcey L. Chief City Auditor The Hon. Dr. Dorcey has built a personal and professional life in the City of Albany devoted to improving the quality of life for residents. Dr. currently serves as Albany’s Chief City Auditor. She was appointed by Mayor Kathy Sheehan to serve in this capacity on January 1, 2020. Since being sworn in, Dr. has launched two audits with the most recent being a Racial Bias Audit of the Albany Police Department. Dr. mission is to raise the profile of the Office of Audit and Control to ensure Albany residents are aware of the office and understand its functions. She has initiated the 30 Minute Download: Community Audit Report. This initiative consists of interviews of city leaders which explore community questions and concerns related to City of Albany programs and services. These interviews are shared on social media and with residents. Dr. was elected to the City of Albany Common Council’s First Ward in 2014 and re-elected in 2018. As the Councilwoman for Albany’s First Ward, the Washington, D.C. native tackled health disparity, public safety and environmental safety issues affecting her constituents with a persistence and passion. Dr. resides in Albany’s First Ward with her loving and supportive husband Don-Lee and beautiful daughter Noble.
